LaMotte WaterLink Pro

Professional-grade water analysis included with every single visit — not just when there's a problem.

Industry Standard

Why LaMotte?

Most pool services use simple test strips that provide rough estimates. The LaMotte WaterLink Pro is a professional photometer — the same technology used by pool labs and municipal water facilities.

It measures water samples with light absorption to deliver precise parts-per-million readings across 11 critical parameters. There's no guesswork involved.

This means your pool receives the exact dose of chemicals it needs — nothing more, nothing less. Better water quality, fewer products used, and complete transparency.

Professional photometric water analysis

Our Process

Testing on Every Visit

A consistent, documented process every single time we service your pool.

01

Sample Collection

Water sample collected from elbow-depth in the deepest part of the pool — not from the surface where readings are skewed.

02

LaMotte Analysis

The LaMotte WaterLink Pro photometer analyzes 11 water chemistry parameters in under 60 seconds with lab-grade accuracy.

03

Dosing Calculation

Results are used to calculate the exact chemical doses needed — no guessing, no over-treating.

04

Treatment & Documentation

Chemicals are applied precisely and every reading is logged to your SKIMMER client portal for your records.

What We Test

11 Parameters — Included Free

Professional water testing included with every weekly visit ($25 value). Every reading documented and visible in your SKIMMER portal after each visit.

Free Chlorine (DPD)Ideal: 1–3 ppm

Primary sanitizer that kills bacteria and algae. The most important reading every visit.

Total Chlorine (DPD)Ideal: 1–3 ppm

Combined with free chlorine reading to detect chloramines and confirm sanitation effectiveness.

Bromine (DPD)Ideal: 2–4 ppm

Alternative sanitizer — monitored for pools and spas using bromine systems.

pHIdeal: 7.2–7.6

Controls effectiveness of chlorine and swimmer comfort. Drifts constantly and must be corrected every visit.

Calcium HardnessIdeal: 200–400 ppm

Prevents scale buildup on surfaces and equipment, and protects plaster and vinyl liners.

Total AlkalinityIdeal: 80–120 ppm

The pH buffer — stabilizes pH so it does not swing wildly from heat, rain, or chemical additions.

Cyanuric AcidIdeal: 30–50 ppm

Stabilizer that shields chlorine from UV degradation, preventing rapid chlorine loss on sunny days.

CopperIdeal: < 0.2 ppm

Detects copper from ionizers or corroding equipment that can stain surfaces green or teal.

IronIdeal: < 0.3 ppm

Iron contamination from well water or corroding metals can cause brown/rust staining on pool surfaces.

SaltIdeal: 2700–3400 ppm

Optimal operating range for salt chlorine generators. Critical for proper chlorine production.

PhosphateIdeal: < 100 ppb

Algae food source — elevated phosphates fuel algae blooms even when chlorine levels look fine.

See It in Action

Every client receives a full water chemistry report after each visit. No more guessing about your pool's health.
